Warehouse / Purchasing Agent


The Warehouse/Purchasing Agent is primarily responsible for the acquisition, distribution, and tracking of materials used for home technology projects and client service. This position coordinates the organization, maintenance, cleanliness, and stock levels of the warehouse, business facilities and vehicles. This position develops relationships with vendors, manufacturers, and transportation/logistics contacts. This position develops relationships with project managers and the service team to ensure
effective communication and promote efficiency.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Including but not limited to)

  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of warehouse and job staging areas.

  • Coordinate shipping and receiving including incoming and outgoing freight shipments.

  • Conduct daily inventory tracking activities of receiving and checking out products in company software.

  • Perform periodic physical inventory counts.

  • Maintain up-to-date vendor contact and portal password information.

  • Develop basic knowledge of key vendors, order requirements and shipping timelines. Maximize purchasing discounts, free or reduced shipping, and quarterly and annual rebate opportunities.

  • Monitor purchase request module in company software daily.

  • Stage jobs. Pull excess products out of inventory before reordering.

  • Create purchase orders and order products.

  • Track estimated delivery dates and status of back-ordered items.

  • Maintain communication with Vendors, Project Managers, and Service team regarding the arrival time of sensitive orders, and backorders.

  • Assist production and service team to check out and load materials in a timely manner.

  • Complete RMAs initiated by field technicians. Return the product and track RMAs.

  • Maintain stock of consumable parts at appropriate levels.

  • Coordinate company fleet ensuring regular vehicle maintenance, cleanliness, registration, and insurance.

  • Coordinate maintenance of facilities including utilities, phone system,
    recycling, trash removal, snow removal, and landscaping.

  • Maintain stock of office and showroom supplies.

  • Collect, sort, and distribute mail daily.


  • 3+ years of experience in a purchasing/warehouse capacity.

  • Basic understanding of logistics.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to climb on ladders and lift boxes above head.

  • Ability to load and unload materials from trucks daily.

  • Excellent computer and software skills to successfully navigate company software systems and vendor ordering portals.

  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
